The plight of the Somalian refugees is heartbreaking and needs our help!  We are launching a fundraising project called "Purses for Somalia”.

"Purses for Somalia" is asking for the donation of ANY purses, wallets, bags, golf bags, messenger bags, or bookbags in useable condition.  All donated items will be collected by Friday 09/09/11.

On 09/10/11, I will host a Purse Party to sell these donated items.  You ALL are invited to this Purse Party in hope that you will buy something that has been donated.  I will personally donate my LVs, Gucci, Tumi, Coach, Ballys, and yes – even CHANEL!  Higher priced items will be available via a silent auction at the Purse Party for a targeted price.  If it is not sold via silent auction, we will list on eBay after the Purse Party.

 All other donated items not sold at Purse Party, will be sold at the Berryessa Flea Market on 09/23/11 and 9/24/11 to the mass public.  I will gauge items, but will eventually sell all - even if at a penny for a purse!

We anticipate an audience of about 1,000 individuals (150 VIP seats), and we have been running model and dancer rehearsals since the end of May. We also have confirmed the following exciting fashion participants:

Sephora has confirmed as the official makeup sponsor for the event, and Nicole Miller, Suzaan Heyns, and local designers will be showcasing at the show- -- including a new collection from Debbie Nghiem. Designers are flying out from all over the world, including Australia and NYC, to attend this event! Be sure to save the date (August 6th) on your calendars and keep an eye out for tickets, as the event will sell out quickly.

Pre-sale tickets and an exclusive guest list and will be sending out the details next week!

Models: They are open to taking a few of my models for the event. Honestly, they already have some amazing models and they have been training them special choreography for my segment, but since they appreciate all of my support and they are opening to possibly incorporating some of models already worked with me before or who refer by GG Connections. Designers are flying out from New York, Australia, Boston, and more to showcase their collections at this premier fashion event. The main purpose of the Mélange Fashion Show is to celebrate diversity in the fashion industry. We aim to empower our community members to participate in the changing perception of health and beauty by embracing models of all ethnicities, shapes and sizes, as well as designers from diverse backgrounds.

The show is divided into three scenes (Genesis, Annihilation & Resurrection) and is a magnificent blend of fashion, music, theater, and dance. Korean drumming, Bhangra, Hip Hop, and more will be showcased throughout the night. A total of 15 designers will be featured, ranging from international designers to local talent in San Francisco. We anticipate an audience of about 1,000 individuals (150 VIP seats), and we have been running model and dancer rehearsals since the end of May. We also have confirmed the following exciting fashion participants:

Sephora has confirmed as the official makeup sponsor for the event, and Nicole Miller, Suzaan Heyns, and local designers will be showcasing at the show- -- including a new collection from Debbie Nghiem. Designers are flying out from all over the world, including Australia and NYC, to attend this event! Be sure to save the date (August 6th) on your calendars and keep an eye out for tickets, as the event will sell out quickly.

Pre-sale tickets and an exclusive guest list and will be sending out the details next week!

Models: They are open to taking a few of my models for the event. Honestly, they already have some amazing models and they have been training them special choreography for my segment, but since they appreciate all of my support and they are opening to possibly incorporating some of models already worked with me before or who refer by GG Connections. Please let me know if you are interested, then I will send Melange the names/pictures/ages of the people would like to be in the show! The rehearsal at 6 PM this Thursday.

Designers are flying out from New York, Australia, Boston, and more to showcase their collections at this premier fashion event. The main purpose of the Mélange Fashion Show is to celebrate diversity in the fashion industry. We aim to empower our community members to participate in the changing perception of health and beauty by embracing models of all ethnicities, shapes and sizes, as well as designers from diverse backgrounds.

The show is divided into three scenes (Genesis, Annihilation & Resurrection) and is a magnificent blend of fashion, music, theater, and dance. Korean drumming, Bhangra, Hip Hop, and more will be showcased throughout the night. A total of 15 designers will be featured, ranging from international designers to local talent in San Francisco. Confirmed fashion participants include Nicole Miller, Suzaan Heyns, Hayley Lai, Carmen Chen Wu and more. Sephora is confirmed as the lead makeup sponsor, and with the Mélange Board of Advisors including Oscar-winning producer Bill Guttentag, Mélange Fashion Show 2011 will be an unforgettable night of entertainment! The event is also a great networking opportunity for individuals from any industry, as there will be group seating for professionals from companies ranging from Google to JP Morgan. The spectacular event only occurs once a year and will sell out soon. There is a limited number of seating, so get your tickets as soon as possible!
